The Lakes has stood the test of time as a wonderful place to call home in Las Vegas. The success of The Lakes is likely found in its “Nature Focused” beginnings and residents today enjoy Lake Sahara, ponds, and tributaries running alongside greenbelts and nature trails. The main community lake is private and available exclusively for homeowners and their guests. Sailboats and electric power boats are permitted on the lake, and weekends find residents gliding serenely through the canals and waterways. There are over 4,000 residential properties from condos, to modest single-family homes, to opulent custom estates on the waterfront.
Life at The Lakes provides lots of opportunities to enjoy nature.
Lake Sahara is the largest body of water on the west side of Las Vegas and migratory birds love to stop in for a visit. Lake Sahara is a natural habitat for all kinds of wildlife. Freshwater turtles, ducks, falcons, geese, herons, cormorants, grebes and many other types of migratory waterfowl. A big flock of Canadian Geese, all landing on the lake in sync is truly an unforgettable sight.
Popular water sports at The Lakes include sailing, boating, paddle boarding, and fishing.
The fishing is terrific! The lake is teeming with 2-5 pound largemouth bass, bluegill and channel catfish. If you like fishing, this is where you want to be.
